This print campaign was intended to compliment a series of television commercials for the Gigaride technology that promises "Unstoppable Cushioning." This campaign was developed by Nonbox. The team included with Creative Director, Steve Flood, Illustrator, Marc Gabbana and Designer, Matt Davis.

The agency had to work from an existing creative concept showcased in a series of 30-second television commericials. The commercials had the benefit of time to tell their story whereas the nonbox design team was limited to expressing the same message in one frame--be it a poster, window banner or POS insert.

The fourth Adicolor podcast has been released, Blue. It's a significant departure from the bizarre videos that have come before it. Blue was created by psyop which has an impressive body of work.

Blue is done in freeze frame, "flip book" style and is in black and white, with splashes of blue. It was shot on New York City streets and features a beck-ish sound track, written by Steve Raymond and sung by Scott Simons. IBut visually, this was impressive work. Watch Blue here

NTT DoCoMo will introduce a new feature called Toruka for thier RFID-chipped wallet phones. DoCoMo's new handsets (FOMA 902i) that will likely be released this coming winter will come with this feature.

Toruka allows wallet phones to receive information from RFID readers.

This feature can be used to get discount coupons, store information, ads, etc. that are sent from reader devices. The received information is then stored in a special "folder" on a mobile phone. Once stored in the folder, the information can be exchanged with others by using a infrared port, external memory device, or email.

Toruka could also be used at arcade game centers to connect arcade games with java-based games on mobile phones.

For Cabino and other sneaker freaks, "The McFlys are the Holy Grail of movie sneakers. The McFlys were created just for the film, they were never worn beyond the silver screen." Cabino has already racked up an impressive 8,000 signatures and plans on personally delivering the petition to Nike. Read more here. This could be a PR goldmine

Coke launches coffee soda

I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I’m for anything that promotes soda as a morning bevy. After all, it has all the same chemicals to get you going in the AM—caffeine, sugar, phosphoric acid. Quite frankly, I’m surprised Coca-Cola hasn’t seized on this marketing tactic before. Obesity epidemic be damned! If Americans can order up a mid-morning Frappucino, why not a bottle of Coke Blak? Life expectancy watch

Great watch

The last thing we all need is a gadget that is constantly reminding us of death. The Life Expectancy Watch displays and monitors the approximate time left in a user's life. According to a patent filed in 1991 by New Yorker David Kendrick the watch has a microprocessor that monitors the passage of time in years, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Your life span is based on actuarial tables that determine your life expectancy based on smoking-status, occupation, socio-economic class or other health factors. So once your life expectancy is determined, the watch may count backwards until your time of death.

Koreans have outdone themselves by developing a coin-size laser video projector module that can fit into cameras or cell phones. Instead of showing-off your pictures on your tiny phone screen, you'll just have to cast a video projection of your photos onto a plain wall. The comany hopes that by 2010, about 5% of phones will have this built-in projection functionality. Koreans will get to see this technology first hand starting next April on Samsung and LG phones.
