Beach advertising
This from Playboy in Argentina, created by Grey Advertising. Another execution is here.
Disappearing stain
The Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi agency in Argenitna developed two fun ways to communicate the stain-fighing power of Ariel detergent -
At a distance, these billboards appear to show a big black stain on the white shirt. However, as the driver gets closer, the stain disappears.
Simple but very effective concept & execution
England Bottle Babe
Well, we're not even into April, but a marker is already set for the worst piece of World Cup tat memorabilia - the England Bottle Babe.
I'm not sure what's worst - the way it looks of the lack of any real point to it. It's a holder for your beer, however, unlike similar products, it doesn't even keep your beer cool. Instead, the manufacturers have added something far more patriotic - it plays the National Anthem at the touch of a button. One can only wonder about the sound quality.
Nike does In-sleep advertising?
You have heard of product placement in movies and video games but scientists and marketers have now cracked the code for entering a new channel: advertising in your dreams.
Coca Cola, Speedo and Nike are just three of the many mega-brands that are exploring this new medium called in-sleep advertising. While still in its infancy, eMarketer forecasts in-sleep advertising spending in the US to grow to over $3 billion by 2020, up from less than one million in 2005. Surely an April Fool
adicolor does adiPorn Podcast
adidas has launched a video podcast. The first film of seven, titled "White," was created by Tronic and is now available for viewing. Seven different directors were commissioned to create a shot film, one for every adicolor color. This first one is amazingly steamy, with Jenna Jameson starring, so I am sure it will get a lot of downloads. Not sure where we are going with this... Roman Coppola features among other directors asked on to the project. Watch it here.

Did they really air this?
This is one to watch all the way to the end, hard to believe that this is something that would really go out on air. Nice refreshing approach though! See the video here.

Forum Jeans Gets Mean
A new campaign from Brazil for Forum Jeans which is letting its feelings towards the country's government be known in the form of ads that depict models beating the crap out of government officials. We could probably use some of that type advertising in some parts of Asia too. Diesel

Fun & Games in the Urinal
Designer Marcel Neundörfer has come up with an interactive urinal to help improve men's aim. The "On Target" urinal concept features a pressure-sensitive pad in the urinal and screen – with games encouraging accuracy played out on the screen in response to where the pressure pad is, erm, splashed on. The concept is currently being positioned as a potential art installation. More here .

Funky Cereal Commercial
Very nice special effects in this unusual cereal commercial. Looks like Thai or something similar at the end, but not really certain of the country here.

Getting it right with adicolor
Street art site Wooster Collective has photographed a German Adidas outdoor poster campaign which consisted of the brand's logo on a white background with a hint of graffiti added. The intention was the public would take the hint and add to the boards. They did. While an early outdoor graffiti campaign for Sony's PSP consisted of completed graffiti placed on boards and was viewed as a lame co-op of the medium, this one provides the hook to draw the public in to complete the job. Wooster Collective likes it. We do too. There's more here
Nike Takes to the Streets
Brilliant guerrilla marketing. This recent work from JWT Mexico for Nike is the latter. The agency built three vehicles. Two in the shape of a pair of Nike sneakers and one the shape of a soccer (football) ball. They then drove the two sneaker mobiles behind the soccer ball mobile as if a soccer player were running after the ball. Definitely a head turner.

Tasty...
Sorry, couldn't resist this....
"The Gateway Grizzlies are proud to announce that they will be adding a new concession item to GMC Stadium for the 2006 season. The Grizzlies and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have teamed up to create 'Baseball’s Best Burger.' The burger...consists of a thick and juicy burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon. The burger is then placed in between each side of a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut
Mice Bait
Since everyone else is passing around the clearly very impressive, though troubling lingerie ads, I'll share the similar mouse bait climber:
Radio is the biggest loser
LONDON – Spending on advertising in the UK increased by 2.1% in 2005, compared with a 6% rise the previous year, with online spend rising by over 70%, according to research published by the Advertising Association.
The internet continued to show its massive capacity for growth with an estimated 73% increase in adspend to £1.1bn, outdoor advertising rose by 5.8% and television by 3.6%. The rise in online advertising is hitting other sectors however. Print press adspend declined by 3%, radio fell 4.5%, cinema decreased by 2.6% and direct mail by 3.9% between 2004 and 2005. The drop off in total adspend over the past year is blamed on a slackening in consumer spending and other adverse economic circumstances. The media covered by the survey include national and regional newspapers, consumer and business magazines, television, radio, outdoor, cinema, internet and direct mail. The total figure excludes advertising expenditure in directories...
Nike gets into bed with Google
Two giants recently got married: Google and Nike have partnered to launch Joga an online community for football fans "by invitation only". Since it applies the same concept of Gmail, I cannot exactly tell you what the site is about (I haven't been invited in yet :-(. But the site will be available in 14 languages.
The site is the next step in Nike's Joga Bonito campaign on the way to Germany 2006, see it here
adidas opens pop up store in Chinatown
Following the pop up store trend, Adidas has launched one hidden away in New York City's Chinatown. The premise behind many of these stores is to appear to be special finds that can be spread by word on mouth rather than stores that are promoted with traditional advertising. It's one natural trend as many people become immune to typical hammer to the head advertising tactics.
